After half a year it is finally time to say goodbye to our beloved daylight saving. Of course not everyone likes daylight saving, but it does give us extra time in the light while we are awake, and most people will agree that is pretty good.
Different countries around the world adopted daylight saving at different times. Germany was the first country to introduce it in May 1916, with the rest of Europe following suit, and 2 years later the United States began daylight saving too.
In Australia, daylight saving began in World War I as well but was taken away after, until World War II when it was reintroduced. This happened again but it was finally instituted and kept by most of the Australian states and territories in 1971.
This is how it has been in NSW ever since.
