Humans of Kegworth: Chris From The P&C

How long have you been a Human of Kegworth?
Two years now. My son, Alex is now just starting year 2, and my other son, Toby, just started in Kindergarten.
You recently became secretary of the P&C – what does that involve?
It is mostly about keeping the meetings recorded and communicated. I take the minutes and make sure all the members are informed of meetings and reports prior to each meeting.
Being on the P&C is a big time commitment – what inspires you to volunteer?
The P&C does great work for the school. When Alex started school, I wanted to get involved to find out about the air conditioning, as it was a really hot summer and his classroom was uncomfortably hot some days. It’s great to see that the air conditioning upgrades are in the pipeline. Other projects include school solar and the Senior Playground plan.
The P&C is a great place to suggest ideas or changes for the school and gauge interest from others in the school community.
What do you do in your free time?
My spare time is spent either exercising (swimming or cycling), playing music (piano or drums) or reading novels. I also like to do simple jobs around the house – although they tend to take many more hours and trips to Bunnings than they should.
Thanks Chris! Great to meet you!
