Humans of Kegworth: Ms Watkins From 5/6 W

How long have you been a Human of Kegworth?

When I started teaching in 2017, my first day as a casual teacher was at another school and my second day on the job was at Kegworth. I haven’t left since!

Is Kegworth anything like the primary school that you went to?

No. My school didn’t have all of the fun lunchtime clubs that Kegworth has and because I grew up in the Hawkesbury, all of my friends lived far away from each other. I also remember the teachers being really different. They were all strict and cranky and I was always getting in trouble for talking too much. Actually, sometimes I do talk too much, haha maybe they were right after all.

Covid restrictions have meant all our fav Kegworth events have been cancelled (boo) – which one will you miss the most?

This is a weird one, I know, because there’s so many fun events to choose from, like the Autumn F.A.R.E, but I really miss assemblies! There’s something about everyone coming together of a morning that helps me to start the day off right and I also like to see who is getting different awards.

What do you like to do with your time when you are not busy teaching at Kegworth?
I take early morning walks on the beach with my two dogs and spend time in my veggie patch, pretending that I am good at gardening.
