Humans of Kegworth: Ash from ‘The Tea Cosy’

#HumansOfKegworth

How long have you been a Human of Kegworth?

I have been a Kegworth parent for 8 years. My son is now in year 8, and I have a daughter in Year 6. It’s my last year at Kegworth, which is very sad.

Can you tell us a bit about The Tea Cosy?

The tea cosy is a tea room in the Rocks. I opened it in 2005. The Tea room is modelled of my grandmothers house in Ireland. We mainly serve Devonshire Tea using an old family recipe.

We hear you are now delivering scones to Leichhardt! How do we order?

Yes we are taking delivery’s! We’ve had heaps already, and Leichhardt is obviously really easy to deliver to. We are taking the orders through our website: www.theteacosy.com.au/store

We are delivering to Leichhardt most week days. We bake the scones fresh in the Rocks in the morning, and then head out about 8:30am.

What are your tips for Iso High Tea?

A lot of customers who have had delivery’s have sent us pictures of their isolation tea party’s. it’s a perfect excuse to use your best China that has been sitting, untouched in your cupboard for 20 years! People make a morning out of it.

One customer told me they used a lace tablecloth and played Dorris Day music. Another said they used the excuse to have a teddy bears picnic in the garden.
