I started playing soccer three years ago, when my dad asked me if I wanted to play. I didn’t actually know what I’d signed up for. He told me all about what I would have to do and who was in my team but all I heard was “blah blah blah, playing with friends, blah blah blah Sundays and Fridays.”
Before I started playing, I thought that football would be a real challenge and it would be hard all the time with no rest, just keep going. When I started playing I realised that soccer is a challenge, but if you need help you can just ask your coach.
That’s one of the things I love about football, even if you’re not naturally born to play, you can learn and become fabulous.
Another thing I absolutely love about football is that you will make friends no matter what – and playing with friends is the best thing in the world. Playing football also teaches you how to work in a team.
If you are a parent and you think that it’s too late to play football then you are WRONG. Football is great for all ages, even if you are a little stiff.
I hope to see you on the football pitch soon!
