Ecosia – The Search Engine That Plants Trees

Isla Guerreiro (Year 4)

Imagine you could turn a desert into a forest without missing anything at all. There’s no way to do that, right? Wrong! All you have to do is get Ecosia.

Ecosia is a search engine, so you can search the web for pictures, videos, maps and more! Like other search engines Ecosia makes a lot of money each year, but instead of keeping it, Ecosia gives away 80% of the profit to a tree planting program.

Planting trees is an amazing way to help out our planet so, you’re probably wondering how to keep track of your success. The answer, look at the top left corner of your main search page, there is a counter telling you how many trees you’ve planted. If you want to look at proof of Ecosia’s donations search it up, on Ecosia.
