Kegworth Music Takes Over Marketplace

By Cerys Blagg

It was a normal morning at Marketplace, Leichhardt. People were gathering to do their shopping or have a coffee. But no! It wasn’t an ordinary morning! It turns out that the students of Kegworth were performing!

There were performances from, junior and senior band, junior and senior strings, recorder ensemble and the senior choir.

The performance attracted quite a crowd! At one point there was a whole line of toddlers and pre-schoolers watching.

There was a great atmosphere and the music sounded fantastic.

“Senior Strings gave a rousing performance of two brand new songs that they have only been learning for two weeks, and an impromptu Bluz for Suz with the recorders, a piece they recently performed in the Sydney Opera House,” said Bridget Hall, Kegworth’s Strings Conductor.

“Junior Strings also performed two items, this was the first ever performance for half of our Junior Strings students. All the Strings players played beautifully.”

All the Kegworth Kids enjoyed themselves, but the fun couldn’t last forever – school beckoned and a hush fell over Marketplace.
